The duality of humanity, East versus West, or how to relate the two

Osho describes the misery of human kind, where the world is nearly cut in half, the East on one side, the West on the other, a misery which can become a chance if each can learn from the other. For Osho, the East has denied the existence of something else outside the self, has denied reality, and, in consequence, has been kept motionless, calm , quiet and inactive, in order to grow its inner soul. On the other hand, the West has denied anything important exists in its self, and has declared that what matters is only the outside, a good thing to develop empirical science, a poor thing to develop the self:

(Osho, Aimer vivre, Chapter 10)

For Osho, this division at the geographic and philosphical levels can be found also within each of us: the left part of our brain is the scientist, the right part is the artist:

(Osho, Aimer vivre, Chapter 10)

Although praising more the right side than the left side - maybe because he knows he is speaking to the Westerner -, Osho emphasizes that both sides are needed to reconciliate our self with our environment, our inner reality with our outside reality, and to save the world for its psychological misery:
(Osho, Aimer vivre, Chapter 10)
